Romans Raise & Revel

Romans Raise & Revel
March 2, 2023

Join us for a night of celebration, philanthropy and revelry!

A beloved tradition and community event, Romans Raise & Revel brings together hundreds of parents/guardians, trustees, faculty, staff and friends in support of the school’s financial aid program. We have an ambitious goal to raise $1.3 million through this year’s event and hope you’ll help us cross the finish line. Your donation of any amount will transform the lives of more than 150 students.

Proceeds from Romans Raise & Revel not only go toward tuition – they also help families afford lunch, transportation, equipment, supplies, Project Week funding and access to other signature events and co-curriculars that make Latin so unique. This year, we’re thrilled to revel with you in person by division at designated locations in Fulton Market and Lincoln Park.

On behalf of the 2023 Romans Raise & Revel co-chairs, Dixie & Rick Erwin, Michele & Amos Khim and Whitney & Joe Huffsmith, please join us as we come together as a Latin community.

Though there is no cost to attend Romans Raise & Revel, sponsorships fuel the event. Sponsorships are critical to providing a world-class education to each and every one of our students.

In recognition of our sponsors and their commitment to our financial aid goals, we’re pleased to honor the support of these generous individuals and organizations as follows:

Thursday? Thursday!
Friday, March 3, is a grade report-writing day with no classes held. Holding Romans Raise & Revel on Thursday, March 2 from 7-10 p.m. this year means you can revel away and not have to worry about school drop-off on Friday!

Where will the event be held? What if I have students in multiple divisions?
This year, Romans Raise & Revel will be held in three division-specific locations in Fulton Market and Lincoln Park. Parents and guardians with students in multiple divisions get to choose which location to attend.

  • Carnivale
    702 W. Fulton Market St.
  • Fulton Market Kitchen
    311 N. Sangamon St.
  • Summer House
    1954 N. Halsted St.

While there will be street/garage parking available near each venue, we encourage ride sharing if possible.

Valet parking

  • Carnivale: $17 (for 3 hours)
  • Fulton Market Kitchen: no valet
  • Summer House Santa Monica: $15

Is there a cost to attend?
We want everyone in the Latin community to join us to celebrate the role that the financial aid program plays in our school’s life. When the invitation arrives, you won’t see a ticket cost. This helps ensure that cost is no barrier to attend this fun community-wide event, and that donors can support the event through donor-advised fund gifts or have their support matched.

Will there be food and drinks?
Yes! There will be heavy appetizers and an open bar provided.

Dress Code: Unrestricted
We encourage you to come as you wish--whether that means cocktail, casual, or business attire--just come ready to celebrate!

How can we support the financial aid program through Romans Raise & Revel?
As you think about your philanthropic support this year, please consider making a gift to support Romans Raise & Revel in addition to your Latin Fund gift, which supports annual operating expenses. Though gifts of any amount are welcome, encouraged and appreciated, you can also maximize your impact through sponsorship opportunities. Individual sponsorships start at $1,500 and include recognition in the invitation and program materials. Corporate sponsorships begin at $2,500. Would you like to talk about your giving? Please contact Dottie Bris-Bois, Chief Development Officer, at dbrisbois@latinschool.org or 312.582.6042.

Thank you for your consideration to join us in supporting this fun – and important – Latin tradition!
