Active engagement is the key to the success of our youngest full day camp. A mix of weekly in-house and local field trips will be taken. Campers also regularly participate in swim lessons. The daily schedule is designed to appeal to the learning style and curiosity of the young camper, utilizing outdoor and indoor space for projects and games.
Example Activities: Collage, Play Dough sculpture, paper making, scavenger hunts, singing and movement, group games, sports, outdoor play, parachute games, arts and crafts, and much more!
Beginning Learn to Swim: Two days each week, Navigators will have the opportunity to participate in the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program. Navigators will begin with Level I: Water Exploration, and progress into primary skills. Campers are grouped according to their skill level, and each group works with a swim instructor and a counselor in the water.
Supervision and Safety: Safety at camp is the top priority. To ensure that our campers are able to have a fun and safe camp experience, campers will be grouped according to age. Counselors will be provided based on a 1:6 ratio in each group. A rest time will also be provided for the Navigators after their lunch break so that they can rejuvenate before the start of a fun afternoon!
