June 19 - July 3, 9-11 a.m.
Students will prepare academically and socially for the transition into high school as they build confidence in their abilities. Academic objectives will include critical thinking through discussion and debate, close reading, note taking, and analytical and argumentative writing. Students will practice time management, learn ways to effectively advocate for themselves in the upper grades, and incorporate strategies to ease the academic and social transition into high school as they practice self-reliance and efficacy and strengthen core abilities that will translate into success within private, public, and parochial institutions. Enrollment is open to all incoming 9th graders.
