Advanced “Scratch” Programming (Grades 5-8)

July 15-19, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Campers will build on their knowledge from the Introductory and Intermediate level classes by using some of the more advanced features of Scratch. Some of the more advanced features include: using Data block features (variables), creating their own blocks and using the Sensing and Operator blocks. Students will work on a couple of projects as a class and then work through creating their own game or interactive story using some of the advanced features of Scratch. Campers should have experience using Scratch previously and be able to program simple games. Campers will take a break daily from the computer screen to play sports, swim, or going to the park. Daily lunch is included.
