- Half Day
June 18-July 6, 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
This class is appropriate for the student who wants to explore various elements of the visual arts. Taught by Latin Visual Arts Instructor Derek Haverland, students will develop artistic styles and techniques while working through a variety of projects that may include drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, computer art, and/or use of the Maker Space for 3D printing.
Observational skills will be explored in the form of still-life, and drawing from observation. Self-expression will also come from symbolic and non-representational work. Students are required to keep a sketchbook journal. In addition to studio practice, students will be exposed to art history and participate in class critiques.
