This course serves as an introduction to the fundamental concepts and principles of computer science. No previous experience in computer science or computer programming is required, although students with some previous experience are welcome. Led by Latin’s Computer Science Department Chair, students will learn about computer science from the ground up, including investigating how computers work and designing algorithms that use computers to solve real world problems. Students will also learn the foundational skills to write code in several different programming languages. Successful completion of this course prepares students to take Computer Science Principles 2.
