Latin allows you to "mix and match." See a one-week camp or class you'd like to attend during a day camp session? Register and we will prorate the cost of the day camp that week.

Students will learn about computer science from the ground up, including investigating how computers work and designing algorithms that use computers to solve real world problems. 

Successful completion of this course satisfies Latin's US Computer Science graduation requirement and prepares students to take Computer Science Principles 2.

Explorers will have the opportunity to learn about leadership, community, and friendship, all while enjoying new activities and camp favorites! Group and individually selected activities will give campers the chance to "explore" and challenge themselves.

Take a voyage through the summer with a program designed for the active and creative camper. Sports, crafts, scavenger hunts, field trips, and swim lessons will round out this camp experience.

Food Science (Grades 5-8)

How do food scientists calculate the number of calories in food? How is candy made and how does it get its color? The only way to answer these questions is to "do" science. This is a hands-on laboratory class where students obtain skills necessary for middle and high school science while having fun!

Extended Day for full day campers

Morning Extended Day: M-F 8-9 a.m.
Afternoon Extended Day: M-F 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Campers can select one-hour or two-hour increments. 
$13 an hour

Extended Day is available only to full-day campers on each day that camp is in session. The program takes place in Latin's Lower School and provides a safe, supervised environment where children can choose from a number of informal activities including board games, craft activities, gym play, and quiet time.

Junior Triathlon Camp (Ages 8-13)

Ages 8-13
Prerequisite: must be able to swim 100m unassisted and be confident riding a bike without training wheels. Campers should bring their own bike.
June 24-28, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.   

Cost: $500 per week. Lunch included.

Aquatics Director and Certified USA Triathlon coach Danielle Carlson will lead campers in a week-long training for junior triathletes following the Chicago Triathlon’s motto: swim, ride, run and fun! Athletes will learn foundation triathlon skills so they can successfully navigate between swimming, biking and running on race day.

Digital Visual Arts (Grades 9-12)

This course serves as an introduction to visual communication skills using a variety of digital media that may include digital photography, digital video, audio recording, digital storytelling, animation, digital painting, digital collage, computer graphic design and web page design.

Algebra 1 (Grades 9-11)

The equivalent of a full-year course and prerequisite for Algebra II, this class will cover linear equations and inequalities, polynomials, factoring, exponents, and graphing. 

A TI-83 calculator is required of all students registered in this class.

Our chess summer camp will help your student expand their chess knowledge for greater game success. A professional instructor will provide a high-level of instruction, which will include opening theory, middle game tactics and planning, and end game combinations so to move each student to a new level of enjoyment and skill.
