Latin alumni Ike Barinholtz ’95 and David Stassen ’95 are in the spotlight as co-creators and executive producers of the new Netflix series “Running Point.”
The show, which was recently renewed for a second season, follows Isla Gordon (Kate Hudson), who is unexpectedly appointed president of the family-owned Los Angeles “Waves” basketball team and must navigate the challenges of leading in a male-dominated NBA.
Barinholtz has contributed to a variety of shows and films over the years, including “MADtv,” “Eastbound & Down,” “The Mindy Project,” “Bless the Harts,” “The Afterparty,” and “History of the World: Part II.” He made headlines last year when he won “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” alongside his father, and donated the winnings to charity.
In addition to “Running Point,” Stassen has collaborated with Barinholtz on several other projects, including “The Mindy Project,” “History of the World: Part II,” and the films “Central Intelligence” and “Maximum Truth.”
Barinholtz has recently appeared on national television programs such as “The Today Show” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to promote his new Apple TV+ show “The Studio.”
Barinholtz and Stassen will be celebrating their 30th Latin reunion this fall.
