Endless activities are the key to the success of our youngest full day camp. Weekly in-house and local field trips will be taken. Campers also participate in swim lessons. The daily schedule is designed to appeal to the learning style and curiosity of the young camper, utilizing outdoor and indoor space for projects and games.

Activities: Weekly specialized activities with instructors such as creative arts, sports, maker, eco crafts, and much more!

Supervision and Safety: Safety at camp is the top priority. To ensure that our campers are able to have a fun and safe camp experience, campers will be grouped according to age. Counselors will be provided based on a 1:4 ratio in each group. A quiet time will also be provided for the Navigators after their lunch break so that they can rejuvenate before the start of a fun afternoon! Campers are grouped by age level.

Take a voyage through the summer with a program designed for the active and creative camper. Sports, crafts, scavenger hunts, field trips, and swim lessons will round out this camp experience.

Activities may include: Mask making, soccer, kite making, group games, basketball, scavenger hunts, outdoor education, beach days, kickball, computers, drama, zoo day, and much more!

Supervision: A 1:8 counselor to camper ratio is maintained in each camp group. Campers are grouped by grade level.

Campers will find fun and challenges in new experiences as well as in camp favorites such as swim lessons, creative arts, and sports. Activities may be mixed-ages depending on interest.

Activities: Adventurers start Wednesday choice day, where campers get to design their day. Choice activities may include kayaking, basketball, paddleboarding, sewing, and much more!

$750 per two-week session; $3,000 for all four sessions

Explorers will have the opportunity to learn about leadership, community, and friendship, all while enjoying new activities and camp favorites! Group and individually selected activities will give campers the chance to "explore" and challenge themselves.

Activities: Kayaking, nature hikes, sculpture, choice Wednesdays, sports and games, swim lessons three-four days each week, arts and crafts, drama, outdoor education, beach days, and more! Weekly adventure field trips may include visits to local climbing walls and water parks.

Camp Trekker is based at the Latin School, but campers will travel off-site daily, visiting favorite Chicago attractions and hidden city treasures. Campers learn to plan and to traverse Chicago using public transportation, walking, and buses.

Special field trips and visits to pools and water parks are included.

Session 2: July 10-August 4

Section A (morning and afternoon): M-F, 8-9 a.m. and 3-5:30 p.m.

Extended Day is available only to full-day campers on each day that camp is in session. The program takes place in Latin's Lower School and provides a safe, supervised environment where children can choose from a number of informal activities including board games, craft activities, gym play, and quiet time. A snack is offered in the afternoon. Sign up for one session or for both. Session 1 is June 12-July 7. Session 2 is July 10-August 4.

Campers enrolled in Extended Day must be picked up no later than 5:30 p.m. A late charge of $5 every five minutes will be charged after 5:30 p.m.

Latin Day Camp contracts with an independent bus company to provide safe, reliable door-to-door bus service to our camp families. Busing is available within the following boundaries: from 600 north (Ohio Street) to 4600 north (Wilson Avenue) and from Lake Shore Drive to 1600 west (Ashland Avenue).

There is no mid-day bus service or bus service for Extended Day. Travel times vary and may total 45 minutes, depending on your location. Notification of your pick-up and drop-off times will be mailed to you before camp starts. The deadline to register for bus service is May 20, 2017. Busing cannot be guaranteed if registering after May 20.

CAMP STAFF

We believe staff is the key to our campers' enjoyment. Therefore, we take great care in hiring and training a qualified and mature staff who have experience working with children, and who will create a fun and unique day for their camp groups. Counselors assigned to camp groups are responsible for ensuring the safety of their groups and for facilitating age-appropriate activities during the day.

BEHAVIOR

Latin Day Camp encourages the highest standards of honorable conduct, civility, and a sense of fair play as is consistent with the student standards of behavior of The Latin School. Children enrolled in Day Camp are expected to be polite to their fellow campers, counselors, and other camp or school personnel, and to respect the property of others and the school. Campers are not to leave the building on their own, and they are expected to be with their assigned camp groups at all times. Latin Day Camp reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to deny any camper the opportunity to participate in camp if the child's social conduct or behavior is deemed unsatisfactory by the camp administration.

TUITION AND REFUNDS

Early registration is advised. Because each program has limited capacity, registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration remains open until a program fills. If programs fill, we will create a waiting list. You will be notified as early as possible if your child has been placed on a waiting list. At that time, please let us know whether you wish for your child's name to remain on the waiting list. We will draw names, in order, from the waiting list up to the time programs begin.

REGISTRATION BEFORE MARCH 1

Please include a non-refundable deposit of 25 percent per child with each registration. The balance is due MAY 1, 2017. Tuition is refundable until MAY 1, 2017 (less the 25 percent per child deposit). After MAY 1, 2017, all monies are non-refundable.

REGISTRATION AFTER MARCH 1

Full payment is due with each registration. Tuition is refundable until MAY 1, 2017 (less the 25 percent per child deposit). After MAY 1, 2017, all monies are non-refundable.

E-checks and Credit cards (MasterCard, Visa and Discover) are accepted. If registering by mail, please make all checks payable to: Latin School of Chicago.

Timely registrations will be acknowledged prior to the start of each program.

To secure a spot in Summer at Latin, the above policies must be followed.

Additionally:

• No camper/student will be allowed to participate in Summer at Latin who has any tuition outstanding.
• No refunds will be made to a camper/student who, for disciplinary reasons, is asked to leave Summer at Latin.
• Tuition monies are non-transferable.
• In case of a camper's/student's withdrawal from the program, the Summer at Latin Office must be notified in writing before May 1 or full payment will still be due.
• Latin reserves the right to cancel a program if unforeseen circumstances occur. Notification of cancellation of a program will be done as early as possible and pro-rated refunds will be issued.
