Artistic Swimming

If you love gymnastics, dance, and swimming - why not combine all three?! Come try the sport of the arts! Artistic Swimming, also previously known as synchronized swimming, is a wonderful sport that enhances flexibility, endurance, and grace! No previous artistic swimming experience necessary to participate. Open to the public. Please register in advance.

Cost: $65 ($5 covers the nose plug that will be provided)

DATES | TIME: 1:15- 2:30 p.m.

Dec 3:  9- 12 year olds 
Dec 10:  6-8 year olds
Jan 7: 13-16 year olds 
Jan 28: 6-8 year olds 
Feb 25: 9- 12 year olds

Students should be strong swimmers who are able to swim the width of the pool unsupported, and should be comfortable being in the deep end. They should be able to support themselves around the pool as they learn different artistic swimming figures. Being familiar with treading water would be helpful. Please bring a swim cap, towel, swimsuit, and goggles. A nose plug will be provided as part of your registration fee. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Minimum of eight students needed for classes to run. 

 


Artistic Swimming Program

For athletes wanting to ‘dive deeper’ into artistic swimming, we offer a five-week program. Over the course of four sessions learn different sculls and figures that are choreographed into a final “performance” on the last day. Please plan to attend all five sessions, so students learn the full choreography with their group ahead of the performance.

Coach Anna

Anna Kozak (Coach Anna) is a certified artistic swim coach through USA Artistic Swimming. She is a graduate of DePaul University and the University of Illinois. She has worked at Summer@Latin for many years and is happy to share her experiences in the water. She has done artistic swimming for over 10 years and enjoyed every minute of it! She believes that artistic swimming is a great way to enhance flexibility, strength, and confidence. It is also a great way to learn different skills in the water! 

Anna also teaches physical education to students from PK3- 8th grade at St. Matthias School. She believes that physical education plays an integral part in motor development and teaches students about teamwork and sportsmanship. Her goal is to motivate students to participate in any type of physical activity. Anna is looking forward to continuing her journey at Latin! Go Romans!
