Seventh grade students have been studying the nervous system, including the parts of the brain, in science class this semester.
It was the first major body system the students have studied within the science curriculum and science teacher Wayne Wheatley wanted to start with introducing them to the most important organ – the brain! They discussed all of the lobes and sections of the brain, but Wheatley feels there's no better way for the students to fully understand what they learned than by dissecting a real (sheep) brain and being able to hold the parts in their hands. It's so much better than just reading about it! See the brainiacs in action.
