Upper School Counselors Jane Knoche and Anneliese Kranz share a wellness technique with upper school students every (Wellness) Wednesday. Upper school students can find the tips and techniques on the US Counseling page on RomanNet.
The counselors share that it often takes practice to build these skills, so don’t count them out if you try it once and don’t see or feel a difference. Some Wellness Wednesday tips and techniques have included:
- This guided breathing exercise is a great way to practice deep breathing! Want a screen break? While sitting with relaxed shoulders, breathe in through your nose for a count of 4. Hold your breath for a count of 4. Release your breath through your mouth for a count of 8. Repeat 4 times.
- Need a boost? This 7-day happiness challenge involves four simple science-backed actions over the course of a week to boost your happiness and reduce stress!
- As we kick off the month of November, we will spend each week practicing gratitude. This week, practice gratitude by writing a letter of gratitude to someone in your life. Learn more about the benefits of gratitude and giving thanks.
