Upper school seniors Mark M. '21 and Tejas V. '21 were in search of a quarantine activity during one of the most unique school years, arguably, of all time. The outcome? A creatively crafted tour of Latin's upper school building in the style of the video game Minecraft.
Mark and Tejas worked together with a group of their friends to replicate some of the most widely recognized spots in the upper school using simple squares and rectangles in Minecraft. What began as a fun quarantine activity became a well-constructed and thoughtfully designed senior project.
"The senior project program provided the perfect opportunity to continue the project as well as present our work to a larger audience," said Mark.
Last year 89 students completed senior projects. Senior-designed projects allow students the opportunity to pursue an individual interest or a passion shared with another senior. Although students design the projects earlier in the year, typically the majority of the work happens during the last four weeks of the senior year. The senior project program provided the perfect opportunity to continue the project as well as present our work to a larger audience.

The Minecraft upper school tour took roughly 60 hours for the students to complete and was presented to the Latin community, along with several other senior projects, back in early June.
