Latin is all about relationships. You will count both classmates and teachers among your best friends. Your friends may have grown up down the block from you, in a different part of the city, or even in a different country. You will learn, firsthand, about cultural differences, because your classmates will be a diverse group of individuals who have so many different experiences to share.
Friendships formed at Latin last a lifetime.
Getting To Know You
Grade-level retreats are built into the school year so that all members of a particular class get to go off campus on two- to three-day trips as a group. These retreats may focus on relationships, team building experiences, community service, leadership, or preparing for the future. Because there are so many new students who enter the School in the ninth grade, the freshman trip is held just before the school year begins, and focuses on cohesion as a new class. In the junior year, students traditionally have had the option of attending an intensive leadership training workshop or doing more community service.
