Concert Day is
a regular event in the Lower School Music Room. In November, March and for a
third time in May, the music room is set up as a concert hall, and students
are invited to perform for class. In November and March, performances are by
students who are taking music lessons outside of school. In May performances
are opened up to dancers, poetry readings, and the unexpected.
These are great
opportunities for students to share with classmates and teachers, their accomplishments.
These performances are often the inspiration to begin lessons. They are always
music-filled occasions. Take a look at the bulletin bord in the Lower School
lobby to see the variety of young musicians who inhabit our halls. You will
see pictures of recorder players, violinists, classical guitarists, clarinetists,
wind players of various sorts, and a wondrous array of young pianists.
