Lower School students once again shared their holiday cheer with a standing-room-only crowd of family and friends during their holiday assemblies on December 19th.
One of the highlights of the season, this year's event titled "Winter Lights, Winter Stories," celebrated a variety of holiday traditions with song, dance, music, and poetry. The Lower School gym was bursting with the sounds of seasonal favorites including "Jingle Bells," and the "Festival of Lights" Hanukkah song, The Nutcracker, Christmas poems, and the story of Kwanzaa.
Students also introduced their audience to holiday traditions from around the world including the Muslim celebration of Ramadan and Diwali, the Hindu New Year. They danced the traditional sword dance to welcome in the New Year and showed off their musical talents on the cello, recorders, and kazoos.
All in all, the Lower Schoolers succeeded marvelously in sending everyone on their winter break brimming with holiday spirit!
