Latin School Kindergarten Students Give Their Ideas of Thanksgiving Recipes, Making Many Thankful--That They're Not Cooking!

Chicago -Kindergarten students at The Latin School of Chicago are offering some of their recipes for Thanksgiving dinner, but many warn not to try these at home! When asked by teachers how to make some of their Thanksgiving favorites, students reported the following recipes:

Turkey by Libby "First you get it from the store. You wash it in water. You cook it for about one hour on hot. Then you take it out and then you are finished."

Stuffing by Steffi "Put the oil and butter in a bucket and stir until it gets mushy. Put the dough in, mix that up. Cook it in the pan and then put it in the oven. You count to 60 in the pan, and 60 in the oven, and then you eat it."

Apple Pie by Catherine "Get some apples, spice them. Put some eggs in. Put it in the oven. Turn the oven to kind of cold and kind of hot. Bake for 10 minutes."

Sweet Potatoes by Elena "Put a little bit of sweet in flour. Then, you put in some orange stuff. Then, you put in a little garlic. Then you cut up potatoes and put it in. Then you put it in the oven for five minutes. Then you are done."

Mashed Potatoes by Matthew "Start with potatoes. Put them in a pot and mash them by blending together. You use your blender. You put milk in. You mix them up and put salt in. Then you put them in the microwave and heat them up for 30 seconds."
