Photo Op As Latin Students Celebrate The Day of The Dead
Who: First through fifth grade students at The Latin School of Chicago.
What: Will parade in honor of the Mexican Holiday, El Dia de los Muertos
(The Day of the Dead), a time when families gather to honor loved ones who have
passed away. It is a time of celebration and acceptance of the cycle of life.
The costumed students have made larger than life skeleton puppets they will carry
in this parade, including music and dance, to celebrate the end of the summer
months, the year, the millennium.
When: Friday, October 29, 1999, 2 p.m.
Where: The parade will begin at The Latin School Lower School, 1531 N. Dearborn.
The
students will cross North Blvd. into Lincoln Park and will follow the path that
circles the gardens in front of the Abraham Lincoln statue.
