PREEMINENT CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST TO SPEAK ABOUT FRIENDSHIP, POPULARITY, AND SOCIAL CRUELTY IN YOUNG PEOPLE’S LIVES


WHO: Michael Thompson, Ph.D., is a child and family expert, consultant and best-selling author.

Thompson co-authored of the New York Times best-selling book, Raising Cain: Protecting the Emotional Life of Boys, which looks at the troubled inner world of boys in contemporary society. He is also the author of Speaking of Boys: Answers to the Most-Asked Questions about Raising Sons and co-author of Best Friends/Worst Enemies: Understanding the Social Worlds of Children.

He is a clinical consultant to The Belmont Hill School, an independent boys school in Massachusetts, and has advised more than two hundred schools across the United States.

WHAT: Thompson will speak to educators about "Friendship, Popularity, and Social Cruelty in the Lives of Children" at the annual Lake Michigan Association of Independent Schools Conference.
