GET YOUR PICTURE TAKEN AT CHICAGO
FRIENDS & NEIGHBORS 2002

The young photographers of PICTURE THIS Projects and The Latin School of Chicago's photo club invite the public — friends, family, strangers and neighbors —
to have their portrait made during a one-day shoot at The Latin School of Chicago, at North and Clark in Chicago, Saturday October 12 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
The photographers aim to make real portraits of real people to show what Chicago and Chicagoans are all about It's part photo documentary project, part study in theory of
six-degrees of separation, and all fun.

Project participants will be photographed as they really are or wish to be seen. All are encouraged to bring their families, pets, and anyone or anything that will help the world understand their interests and personality. A questionnaire will allow the participants to tell us more about themselves and their perspectives on life and these times.

This is the fifth time PICTURE THIS Projects has conducted a Friends & Neighbors shoot. Previous shoots were done in Chicago's Ukrainian Village, Evanston, Waukegan, and Germany.

Participation is free. Participants will be invited to an exhibition of all the pictures made that day planned for Spring 2003.

PICTURE THIS Projects is a Chicago-based not-for-profit, intergenerational group of volunteer photographers and other community members creating and supporting
photography projects that encourage creative expression and self-esteem. Through their projects and exhibitions, PTP aims to help bridge the gap between people of different backgrounds. There is a picture gallery and more about the group at www.picturethisprojects.org.
