Live & Learn Spring 2000 Session Kicks Off
CHICAGO - The Live & Learn program at The Latin School of Chicago will kick
off its Spring 2000 session on March 11, offering nearly 250 adult education
classes. The classes will be held through the end of May and are open to the
public for a fee.
This session's
courses include a host of unique offerings including "Spring Cooking with
Charlie Trotter" on March 11, "Hot Galleries in the West Loop"
on May 6, and "Starting Your own Business: Strategies of an E-Commerce
Entrepreneur" on May 25.
Instructors donate
their time and resources to Live & Learn and proceeds from the program are
gifted to The Latin School in support of scholarship and faculty grant programs.
Registration for all courses is required and depending on availability and space,
is open until the day of class. To register or receive a free catalogue, call

Spring Cooking
with Charlie Trotter
Date: Saturday, March 11 1-2:15 pm Course Fee: $100
Location: Charlie Trotter's, 816 W. Armitage Avenue
Chef Charlie Trotter will demonstrate recipes that celebrate the arrival of
spring. Join him in his studio kitchen, located next door to his renowned
restaurant, where he will present new dishes that incorporate the arrival of
beautiful spring produce. The demonstration will include a tasting of each
of the recipes that Chef Trotter prepares, along with an appropriate wine.
Planning a Wedding CAN Be Fun!
Date: Saturday, April 8, 10 am-1 pm Course Fee: $35
Location: Weddings 826, 826 W. Armitage Avenue
Experienced wedding consultant Elizabeth Page McConnell of
Weddings 826 cordially invites you to participate in a day of wedding planning
fun! From fashion to flowers, McConnell will cover all the latest trends in
the Chicago matrimonial market. You will also get the inside word on how to
get the "best bang for your buck."
Pre-Natal Yoga
Date: Saturdays, Apr 8-May 27, 1:30-2:30 pm Course Fee: $100
Location: Body Balance, 1009 N. Rush Street, 4th floor
Join Body Balance for this yoga class designed exclusively for expectant mothers.The
program aims to strengthen posture and enhance your sense of well-being by easing
some of the discomfort of pregnancy such as backache and fatigue. You also learn
standard yoga breathing techniques that can assist you during the rigors of
labor and delivery.
Guide to Buying
and Selling Your Home on the Internet
Date: Tuesday, May 2, 7-9 pm Course Fee: $25

Join Vice President of Rubloff Residential Properties Darlene Little and Sales
Associate Maureen Moran to find out how the Internet can help you in the process
of buying or selling a home. In this hands-on class, you will learn how to best
use the computer and the Internet to meet your real estate needs.
The Weekend Adventurer: Getting You Back Outside Where You Belong
Date: Wednesdays, May 3 & 10, 7-9 pm Course Fee: $35
Location: Uncle Dan's Army-Navy Camping & Travel, 2440 N. Lincoln Learn
how easy and fun a weekend camping trip can be! This hands-on class will de-mystify
the techniques needed to survive in the great outdoors. You will learn camping
essentials, orienteering, purification of water, wilderness first-aid, secrets
of outdoor cooking, knot tying, how to choose the best campsites, and much more.
Spring House Tour

This spring's self-guided house tour will take you through beautiful and intriguing
houses and apartments on the Gold Coast and in Lincoln Park.
An Exclusive Tour of the 33rd Annual ASID Showcase House

"Hot" Galleries in the West Loop
