Staying Healthy
Latin is closely following Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines that have been sent to schools in respone to recent cases of
Community-Associated Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (CA-MRSA or MRSA) among student athletes in the U.S. To learn more about the infection and precautions you can take to keep your family healthy, please visit the following Web sites:

Farewell from Live & Learn
Live & Learn wants to extend a special thank you to all the parent volunteers who distributed catalogues and monitored classes during our final semester. Thank you to our long-time volunteers Angela Konishi and Rozanne Levin for their hard work in organizing classes for the program. Special appreciation, too, to our Volunteer Coordinator, Neeta Demeulenaere, and our Distribution Chair, Scott Trotter. Thank you to the entire Latin School community that has supported the program for the last 34 years.
EVENTS
Alumni and Parent Phonathons
The annual alumni and parent phonathons will take place Monday, Nov. 12 - Thursday, Nov. 15. For more information or to volunteer, please e-mail Kirsten Mallik at
kmallik@latinschool.org.

Incognito
Michael Fosberg, actor and playwright, is bringing his one-man biographical show, Incognito, to Latin's Upper School on Thursday, Dec. 6.

In this show Fosberg recalls his personal journey when, as an adult, he discovered he was not the person he thought he was. It's a life-changing self discovery of family and race, and a personal historical odyssey in two opposite sides of the world.

Michael will do one show for the Upper School students at an afternoon assembly, as well as a workshop for eighth graders.

Scholarship Dinner
Save the date - February 23rd, 2008 - for Latin's biennial Scholarship Dinner! The Scholarship Dinner committee is already hard at work to ensure that it is a fabulous evening for all and that our goal of raising $800,000 is reached. You can learn more about Latin's Scholarship Program and the Scholarship Dinner on Latin's Web site. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to help, please e-mail Carrie Scott in the Development Office at
cscott@latinschool.org.

Buy A BrickBUY A BRICK!
Buy a brick online! Last year hundreds of Latin alumni, families, and friends made their mark at the new Middle School with an engraved brick. Due to popular demand, we are offering this opportunity again. You can buy an engraved brick to honor your family or a teacher or to leave your message for future Latin students.

Bricks will be available through January 15, 2008, and will be installed in time for the start of school next fall. If you have any questions, call 312-582-6040 or send a message to giving@latinschool.org.
