RECENT EVENTS
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Visits Latin
The Latin Initiative for Ethics (LIFE) program welcomed its first speaker for the 2007/2008 school year, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., on October 4. Kennedy, one of the country's most prominent environmental attorneys, addressed students about ethics and the law.

Kennedy currently serves as chief prosecuting attorney for Riverkeeper, an organization whose mission is to protect the Hudson River from polluters. He also is the senior attorney for the Natural Resources Defense Council and recently published a book entitled, Crimes Against Nature.
Robert Kennedy Jr. visits Latin
Kennedy spoke to US students about his many successes in shutting down the activities of polluters. He detailed Riverkeeper's efforts to restore the ecosystem of the Hudson, once a dumping ground for chemicals that nearly destroyed the river. He urged students to get involved in the political process, citing it as the path for effecting change and further protecting our environment.

LIFE is a curricular and extra curricular program that is designed to provide a framework for the ongoing study of contemporary ethics issues. In the 2007/2008 school year, LIFE will focus on ethics in the law.
