Tim Cronister
Tim Cronister will become Latin’s first Director of Student Life, starting July 1, 2007. Don Firke appointed Tim to this newly created position after a search that included applicants from both inside and outside of Latin. According to Firke, “Tim quickly emerged as a candidate with an extraordinary combination of qualifications, experience and enthusiasm for the position.”

For the past five years, Cronister has led the Upper School staff and student body as Upper School director with spirit, compassion and devotion. In his new role, he will have the opportunity to apply those same qualities school-wide. As Director of Student Life, Cronister will oversee the school’s student leadership training program, experiential and outdoor education programs and community service. He will be a member of the Administrative team and report directly to the Head of School about the development of programs that help support the school’s mission.

Cronister will work closely with Jeff Walkington, VP of Academic Affairs, Frankie Brown, Dean of Multicultural Affairs, division directors and the various deans of students to evaluate and develop programs, as well as plan professional development for faculty and administration.

Cronister’s experience and knowledge of the Latin community as well as his strong background in community service and co-curricular student life issues will allow him to greatly impact the entire school in this new role.

Good luck, Tim!
