It is with great excitement that I announce that Sally Ott will be our next Lower School director. After interviewing a wide range of candidates, I am confident that Sally has the experience, the knowledge, and, most importantly, the heart to be a strong leader to our lower school faculty, a diplomatic ambassador to our lower school parent body, and a caring attendant to our lower school students. According to Sally, “I see this opportunity as a great challenge, and am excited to work with the students, teachers and parents in a new capacity.”

Sally has been a part of Latin since 1985 where she has served as Reading Resource Coordinator in the Lower School as well as a classroom teacher. She has participated at length in a variety of other roles during her time here including, as the Language Arts Curriculum Coordinator, as a part of the New Faculty and Assistant Teacher Seminar Program, and as a member of the Academic and Faculty Councils.

Sally holds a Certificate of Advanced Study in administration from National Louis University, a masters of education degree in special education from University of Washington, and a bachelors degree in elementary education from University of Oregon. In addition to many other professional awards, Sally was the recipient of Latin’s Outstanding Educator Award in 1994.

Please join me in welcoming Sally to her new role!
