Students joined together to make a difference on the Lower School’s first ever Community Service day on April 16, and their efforts achieved tremendous success.
All of the grade levels designed their own projects, which were as follows:

| Junior kindergarteners |
Junior Kindergarten - Held an activist march throughout the LS and neighborhood with homemade posters and signs related to taking care of the earth.

| Senior kindergartners |
Senior Kindergarten - Decorated gift-wrap paper to donate to participants in the Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly organization.
 |
| First graders |
Grade 1 - Picked up garbage in the park and neighborhood.
 |
| Second graders |
Grade 2 - Adopted families through the Heartland Alliance organization, donated clothes and organized for Peapod to make a grocery delivery to their homes.
 |
| Third grader |
Grade 3 - Wrote letters to the troops in Iraq.
 |
| Fourth graders |
Grade 4 - Collected batteries and cell phones.
 |
| Fifth graders |
Grade 5 - Launched a “Go Green” campaign for Latin.
