Application Process: Junior Kindergarten

Application
The deadline for receipt of application forms and application fee is DECEMBER 15, 2008.

NOTE EARLIER DEADLINES FOR SIBLINGS AND CHILDREN OF ALUMNI AND FACULTY
The entire application process, including the parent meeting and child assessment, must be completed prior to November 15, 2008, to be considered for preferential admission (for the sibling of a current student and children of alumni and faculty members).

Decision letters Mailed: March 25, 2009.

JK dismissalThe application process is initiated by submitting the application form along with the $80 application fee (please contact us at (312) 582-6060 or at admissions@latinschool.org if this fee presents a financial burden). To apply for junior kindergarten, applicants must be 4 years old by September 1, 2009.

Upon receipt of the application form and fee, the Admissions Office will

    • tour
    • parent meeting
    • child developmental assessment

Tours
All parents will be given a tour of the Lower School as part of the admissions process.

Parents interested in touring the school prior to applying are encouraged to attend a group tour available the first Monday of each month, October through May, at 8:45 a.m. or 12:15 p.m. Please contact the Admissions Office to schedule, (312) 582-6060 or admissions@latinschool.org.

Parent Meetings
Parents will meet with an admissions representative. The parent meeting is scheduled to occur simultaneously with the child's visit. Parents should tour the school prior to their scheduled parent meeting.

Child Developmental Assessments
Each applicant will have an individual assessment to assist the admissions committee in determining the developmental readiness of each child. The assessment consists of an early childhood specialist playing games and working through some tasks with the applicant to better determine school readiness.
