When are decisions made?
- If a student is accepted to Latin, an acceptance letter will indicate whether the student has been funded or waitlisted for funds. If the student is funded, details of the award will be in the acceptance letter. Please note that the offered financial aid award is not final until FACTS verifies the 2007 Federal Income Tax Return.
How long will I be funded? Do I need to re-apply every year?
- Students will be funded as long as they are at Latin, assuming the financial need of the family remains the same. Each year we requireall families receiving financial aidto submit all required documents so that we can re-assess funding for the next year.
If I am in the Middle or Upper School, do I need to maintain a certain grade point average to continue to be funded by the School?
- No, our financial aid program is need-based.
What can I do to better my chances to be funded?
- The most important aspect of the financial assistance process is meeting the deadlines. If your child is a strong candidate for admission, and a need is evident, then he or she is a strong candidate to be funded.
How many students at Latin receive aid? Are applicants and recipients of financial aid kept confidential?
- Approximately 15 percent of students receive financial aidfrom the school. We
honor the confidentiality of a student's financial aid file.
