- Tuition for the 2007-08 academic year: JK: $17,425; SK-grade 5: $19,535;
grades 6-12: $23,285
- Financial aid: Typically, The Latin School offers more than $3 million in need-based scholarships each year.
We are committed to making a Latin education accessible to students from all backgrounds, regardless of financial means. Approximately 10 percent of the school's annual operating budget is dedicated to this effort. Financial aid is
awarded to students at all grade levels and is decided on the basis of need and
availability of funds.
Applications for financial aid should be submitted as early as possible but no
later than FEBRUARY 1, 2008. If you have any questions about The Latin School's financial aid opportunities, please contact us at (312) 582-6060 or admissions@latinschool.org.
How to Apply for Financial Aid
Those interested in applying for financial aid should check the appropriate
box on the application form.
Need-Based Awards
To be considered for financial aid, it is essential to adhere to all instructions and deadlines. A request that is filed late will not be included in the initial financial aid allotment -- as a result, funds may not be available even though the family qualifies for assistance. Because Latin's financial aid funds are limited, it is possible for a student to be accepted to the school but not receive funding, even though all deadlines have been met.
A family's financial aid award is determined each year by Latin's Financial Aid Committee, which uses information supplied by families to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment, our need-analysis provider, and Latin's Supplemental Financial Aid Form. In computing the amount of the award, Latin considers factors such as family size, income, expenses, assets and liabilities and priorities for spending.
Latin's financial aid awards are grants, which means there is no repayment required.
In Case of Divorce or Separation
In cases of divorce or separation, both parents should submit all required forms. The family's ability to contribute is based on both parents' income and assets.
The Community Scholar Program
Supplemental funds also are available to some families through outside sources
including corporations, families and foundations. One of these opportunities is The Latin School's Community Scholar Program. The program provides tuition assistance to low-income students with exceptionally strong academic and leadership talents.
