"Being
able to spend time instead of just making a donation is the most important part
of service learning, because the more hours you put into an organization, the
more you care about the people who come there."

You will feel supported at Latin in many ways. There is a school counselor available to discuss any kinds of difficulties or challenges you face, a school nurse to help you when you are ill and who will discuss any health or nutrition concerns you have, and two student deans—one for the Upper School and one for the ninth grade. A professional college counseling staff will guide you through that all important process, throughout your high school years. Add that to the cadre of concerned teachers and coaches you encounter every day, your advisor and advisory group, and your friends, and you will know that, at Latin, there are whole teams of people helping you make the most of your high school years.
