Latin
art students are artists, and their work is evident everywhere, from framed
pieces hanging in the second and fourth floor hallways to the announcements
of concerts, plays, and other performances and exhibits that pop up throughout
the year.
All students begin their study with the visual arts component of ninth grade
Humanities. Another year and a half of art is required, one-half of which
must be in the performing arts.
As
a Latin artist, you will create music, dance, theatre, sculpture, paintings,
drawings, photographs and graphic designs. Your creative expression will be
informed by a study of techniques, aesthetics, and history, but it will be
you and your creative voice that get the most attention by your art teachers.
Teachers will encourage you to take risks, to work analytically to solve problems,
to offer informed opinions, to respect others' forms of expression, and to
interact respectfully with fellow artists.
