Chicago Movie Project

Using digital cameras and iMovie software, we will shoot footage at various locations around the city, at various times of the day. We will then edit the shots together to create a sequence of images that tell a story of the city. We will add special effects, soundtrack and credits. The idea is to create a film in the tradition of the great avant-garde masterpieces by Dziga Vertov, The Man with the Movie Camera (Moscow, 1929) and Walter Ruttman, Berlin: Symphony of a City (Berlin, 1927), sequences of which we will view at the beginning of the week.
