As a result of the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina and Rita, thousands were left without homes, schools, and
churches. Entire communities were destroyed. We will lend a hand in the rebuilding process.

We left Memphis this morning, drove the entire length of Mississippi and arrived in New Orleans this afternoon.
We were met at our hotel by Kelly Gibson, a professional golfer, who has started his own relief organization called
"Feed the Relief" (www.feedtherelief.net). Gibson and his wife are both
natives of New Orleans and gave us an unbelievably powerful tour of the devastation that is still very much here six months
after the storm.
We saw innumerable abandoned cars, many that had been damaged by boats when the roads were underwater and countless houses that were damaged beyond repair. We were given a police-escorted tour through St. Bernard's Parish, just to the east of New Orleans. The community suffered incredible damage but the tight knit parish has vowed to rebuild. The personal stories shared by the officers were awe-inspiring for the courage, spirit and strength they showed. One of the most powerful scenes was a house that was sitting in the middle of the street and the original location of the house five blocks away.
We are looking forward to our day of work tomorrow at St. Bernard's Unified School.
