This morning most of us woke up at around 10:00 am. Looking out the window, we were rather shocked to see a few inches of snow everywhere.
After eating breakfast (only Kenny ate hard-boiled eggs), we played some Astronomy Monopoly and watched numerous episodes of "Family Guy" on Nick's laptop.
Eventually we went down to the library at 2:00 pm, when Mr. Rice demonstrated to us how to process single-shot color images using CCDOPS and Photoshop CS. We spent around 3 hours learning and processing practice images (taken by Mr. Rice; we still haven't been able to image anything ourselves). Kenny seemed to be having difficulties with processing the color; later on we discovered he only needed to change the color balance. I finished processing images of two objects (M81 and M82) to some success. Soon we realized most of us were combining the "quick-and-dirty method" and the "lots of control method." Because of this, some of us had a few problems, but the choice of method really does depend on the object.
During this time we all went to the office (though not simultaneously) to browse the numerous astronomical products that are for sale, including flashlights, calendars, t-shirts, books, and more.
We all went back to the cabin at around 5:30 pm. Soon enough, it was time for Ella and me to make Crispy Oven-Fried Chicken™. I had much fun rolling cold, wet chicken meat in bread crumbs. After watching "Family Guy" some more, it was time to eat. The meal was actually a success, though I thought it had a bit too much lemon pepper.
Later we went back down to the library to play some more with the practice images. It's now 11:02 pm.
