At the end of this whirlwind tour of Chicago stages, you will have a better appreciation of the depth, excellence, and variety of live Chicago theater experiences. Beginning Saturday, March 8, we will see nine shows in eight theaters. We also will be treated to the reflections of theater critics, playwrights, and cast and crew members, we will participate in interactive theater workshops, and we will discuss our experiences at before and after theater dinners at nearby restaurants.

Here is a mini-synopsis of our schedule:
Saturday -- The Cider House Rules, Part I— Here in St. Clouds and Part II—Elsewhere in the World (Famous Door Theatre) at Victory Gardens Theater
Sunday -- Tartuffe at City Lit Theatre
Monday -- Andrew Patner (critic) presentation, and Best of Second City at The Second City. (see photos below)
Tuesday -- World Set Free at Steppenwolf Arts Exchange, and workshop with Ann Boyd, Steppenwolf Artist in Residence, at Royal George Theater.
Wednesday -- I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change at Royal George Theater, followed by discussion with stage manager and technical staff.
Thursday -- Dinner with Friends at the Goodman Theatre, and Breath, Boom by the Pegasus Players at O’Rourke Center for the Performing Arts.
Friday -- Jamil Khoury (playwright) presentation, and King o’ the Moon at Mercury Theater.

This project is led by History and Social Studies Department Chair Ernestine Austen, who has led this project seven times before, and Dr. Elizabeth Teare, Latin’s new Humanities teacher who is eager to experience Chicago theater with interested students.
