Immerse yourself in different cultures by exploring their cuisines. We will hone our cooking skills by taking lessons from experienced chefs, we'll sample ingredients we buy at ethnic markets throughout the city, we'll explore cookbooks to find recipes of regional favorites, and we'll top it off with an ethnic feast prepared by us!
We'll learn how foods and customs surrounding cooking and eating help express the values of each culture. There will be student presentations every day. Eat, eat, and be merry!
Here's our schedule for the week:
Monday - CARIBBEAN (Chef Valcour class; bookstore visit) see photos below
Tuesday - INDIAN (Devon Ave. tour; lesson at Heat & Spice Cooking School)
Wednesday - MOROCCAN (market visits; class at the Chopping Block)
Thursday - LATIN AMERICAN (interactive cooking class at Latin;

Friday - FRIDAY FEAST (prepared by you!)
This project is led by Spanish teacher Lourdes Gonzalez and Assistant Director of College Counseling, Cindy Rodkin.
