Do
you know what the word "scuba" means?*
In
the comfort of our own pool, our students will complete an entry-level
Open Water Diver course conducted in accordance with the National YMCA
Scuba Program standards. Watch as we learn about underwater physics and
physiology, how to take into consideration pressure and depth, safety
and first aid, dive tables, and the mechanics of the tanks, valves, and
regulator. At the end of the week, students will be eligible to perform
a check-out dive in an open water setting to complete the lifelong certification
in scuba!
What
does it mean?
*It is an acronym for Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus.
