Photojournalism at the Chicago Tribune
Bill Parker, the Chicago Tribune's associate managing editor for photography, set up this schedule for Joe's Project Week internship:
Monday--assignment: be a sports photographer for tonight's Bulls-Kings game.
Tuesday--learn
about newspaper design, graphics, packaging and editing with Tony Majeri,
senior editor.
Wednesday--Meet with a staff photographer to learn about digital photography, the nature of a photographer's job, how we get assignments, etc. Then spend the afternoon shadowing photo editor Susan Ryan, who gathers and edits photos to be used in Section One and works closely with the Section One news editor.
Thursday--Finish
out the week as you began, spending the day in Sports. This time, work
with a sports writer.
