Project Week provides students in grades 9-12 with unique opportunities to enjoy alternative educational experiences outside the classroom during one week each spring. Students have a wide range of in-town and out-of-town activities from which to choose; Project Week endeavors may require physical endurance, promote cultural awareness, provide artistic/creative opportunities, encourage career/internship preparation, or offer in-depth academic investigation. A brochure is sent home in the fall describing the activities planned, and students and parents are asked to make a selection. Project Week is required every year and is graded pass/fail.

During the fourth week in April, Middle School students and faculty engage in Project Week, a week during which they leave their classrooms and take to the air, the road, and waterways. Sixth graders journey to the state capital of Springfield to explore the inner workings of government and state history. Seventh graders explore and improve the Chicago River and surrounding neighborhoods, after spending the year studying the river and its environs. And eighth graders fly to Washington, D.C., where they learn about the rich cultural, historical, and political institutions that form the core of our nation's capital.
