Middle School: Community Service
Through community service and the affective education program our students are encouraged to explore their role in the wider community beyond Latin.

They are active participants in homeroom, grade-level, and individual outreach efforts, whether it is raising funds to purchase a cow for a village in a developing country, visiting residents of a nearby nursing home, or organizing a collection drive for school supplies. Each year our sixth graders are reading “buddies” and mentors for younger students at a struggling Chicago Public School, our seventh graders participate in service projects related to a region or culture they study in their World Cultures curriculum, and our eighth graders raise funds for a good cause by preparing dinner during Middle School Festival Night.
