Lower School: Community Service

girls with dolls they are donating
"It was fun brushing the dolls' hair and making them look new again. Now someone else can love my doll."
— A Lower School student on a doll rehabilitation service project for an organization benefiting developmentally delayed children
An integral part of the learning experience at The Latin School is the opportunity to reach out to the wider community, and community service is fully integrated into the Lower School curriculum. Our students do everything from preparing sandwiches for soup kitchens and performing puppet shows for senior citizens from a nearby nursing home to collecting school supplies and sewing hats and gloves for homeless children. They read about the challenges different people face and discuss how they can help.
